Oтношение России к Украине- У абсолютного большинства опрошенных украинцев (88%) отношение к России в целом позитивное. Однако в России положительно относятся к Украине лишь 54,7% населения. Показательна разница в количестве тех, кто относится очень хорошо к соседнему государству - если к Украине так относится лишь 5,5% россиян, то среди украинцев очень хорошо к России относятся 47,3%. Негативное отношение к Украине у 33,5% россиян, между тем как к России негативно относятся только 6,8% украинцев. В целом можно утверждать, что отношение украинцев к русским намного лучше, чем россиян к украинцам.

Возвращение Крыма России - Споры между Россией и Украиной по поводу Крыма продолжаются довольно давно - россияне так и не смирились с потерей этой территории. По мнению 47% респондентов, Россия должна любой ценой добиваться возвращения Крыма. Считают, что не стоит добиваться возвращения Крыма ценой ухудшения российско-украинских отношений, 37% опрошенных. По вопросу о принадлежности Севастополя россияне занимают еще более жесткую позицию. Однако по сравнению с 1997 годом доля тех, кто уверен, что этот город должен принадлежать России, существенно сократилась, а доля тех, кто выступает за совместное владение Севастополем, возросла.

Вступление России в ЕC - - Сегодняшние отношения России и стран Евросоюза участники опроса вдвое чаще оценивали как негативные, чем как позитивные (39 и 21% соответственно); при этом очень многие – 40% – затруднились как-либо охарактеризовать эти отношения.
Мы обратились к участникам опроса с просьбой прокомментировать выбор своей позиции (был задан открытый вопрос). Те, кто ратует за вступление России в Евросоюз, приводили самые разные причины, ни одну из которых нельзя назвать доминирующей. Относительно часто говорилось, что вхождение России в ЕС обеспечит рост национальной экономики, ускорит ее интеграцию в мировое экономическое пространство, что, в свою очередь, положительно скажется на благосостоянии россиян (4%). Звучали доводы об укреплении взаимоотношений со странами Европы, о совместном с ними принятии важных международных решений (по 3%). Некоторые полагают, что, вступив в Евросоюз, Россия в скором времени станет более цивилизованной страной (на европейский манер), заявляют, что это повысит авторитет России в мире, что нельзя изолироваться от других стран (по 2%).

Вопрос о том, будет ли в России финансовый кризис в 2008-2009 году, волнует многих. В возможный негативный сценарий для российской экономики вписывает свои жирные строки мировой финансовый кризис, черты которого все четче вырисовываются на фоне плохих новостей с мировых финансовых рынков.

Китай: Сторонники приоритета дружеских отношений с Китаем чаще всего говорят, что эта страна территориально ближе к России, чем Америка, у нас "большая протяженность границы - и ссориться с соседями нельзя", "кто ближе, с тем и надо дружить", - 9%.
- 6% респондентов считают Китай важным партнером, потому что это сильная, быстро развивающаяся страна (по мнению некоторых, более динамичная, более перспективная, чем США), сотрудничество с которой более выгодно для России в экономическом плане ("большой потенциал у Китая"; "США теряет свои силы - у Китая большое будущее"; "Китай - хороший экономический партнер"; "ресурсы будут потреблять"; "все, что дешево, - из Китая").
- Выбор 5% опрошенных объясняется тем, что они просто не любят Америку, не доверяют ее президенту и стране в целом ("США - сплошное предательство"). Поэтому лучше, полагают они, дружить с Китаем.
- Китай - традиционно дружественная нам страна, 4% респондентов. Мы живем с китайцами на одном континенте, у нас с ними больше общего, чем с американцами ("это близкая по духу и по строю коммунистическая страна"; "раньше были тесные связи - надо восстанавливать").

США: Считающие приоритетными для России отношения с США исходят из того, что по многим параметрам эта страна - мировой лидер; важно дружить с самой сильной державой мира, перенимать ее опыт, полагают они ("США - лидер везде и занимает господствующее положение"; "умный учится у тех, кто умнее и развитее") -14%.
- 2% респондентов подчеркивают, что в лице Америки нельзя иметь врага, "США должны быть партнером, а не врагом".
- 1% опрошенных отмечают, что в плане культурных традиций, по стилю жизни, по образу мысли американцы ближе россиянам, чем китайцы ("китайцы - непонятные для нас люди").
- 1% аргументируют свою позицию тем, что с США у России уже давно сложились партнерские отношения, которые надо крепить.
- Наконец, для 1% респондентов доводом в пользу приоритетности партнерских отношений с США фактически оказывается сомнение в необходимости сближаться с Китаем: они опасаются, что в случае укрепления дружбы с этой страной в Россию хлынет поток мигрантов с территории КНР ("могут заселить Россию"; "потеряем всю страну").

Отношения России и НАТО - Отношение к Североатлантическому альянсу уже не в первый раз становится темой нашего опроса. Сегодня более половины россиян (54%) убеждены в том, что блоку НАТО присущи агрессивные стремления (определяют его как оборонительный союз 24% респондентов). Особенно характерны подобные суждения для представителей левого электората (так думают 67% сторонников Г. Зюганова), чье мировоззрение во многом было сформировано в эпоху 'холодной войны'. Сегодня количество респондентов, оценивающих НАТО как агрессивный блок, оказалось на 16 п.п. больше, чем во время массового опроса, проведенного в феврале 1997 года. Тогда представление об агрессивности альянса разделяли 38%, а рассматривали его как оборонительную структуру 24% опрошенных.

Euthanasia (from the Greek eu = good + thanatos = death) refers to the practice of ending a life in a painless manner. Many different forms of euthanasia can be distinguished, including animal euthanasia and human euthanasia, and within the latter, voluntary and involuntary euthanasia. Voluntary euthanasia and physician-assisted suicide have been the focus of great controversy in recent years.

As of 2009, some forms of euthanasia are legal in Belgium, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Switzerland, the U.S. states of Oregon and Washington the Autonomous Community of Andalusia (Spain), and Thailand.

Euthanasia by consent

Euthanasia may be conducted with consent (voluntary euthanasia) or without consent (involuntary euthanasia). Active euthanasia entails the use of lethal substances or forces to kill and is the most controversial means. An individual may use a euthanasia machine to perform euthanasia on himself / herself.

Assisted suicide

Assisted suicide is a form of euthanasia where the patient actively takes the last step in their death. The percentage of self-identified Christians has fallen 10 points in the past two decades.
It was a small detail, a point of comparison buried in the fifth paragraph on the 17th page of a 24-page summary of the 2009 American Religious Identification Survey. But as R. Albert Mohler Jr.—president of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, one of the largest on earth—read over the document after its release in March, he was struck by a single sentence. For a believer like Mohler a starched, unflinchingly conservative Christian, steeped in the theology of his particular province of the faith, devoted to producing ministers who will preach the inerrancy of the Bible and the Gospel of Jesus Christ as the only means to eternal life—the central news of the survey was troubling enough: the number of Americans who claim no religious affiliation has nearly doubled since 1990, rising from 8 to 15 percent. Then came the point he could not get out of his mind: while the unaffiliated have historically been concentrated in the Pacific Northwest, the report said, "this pattern has now changed, and the Northeast emerged in 2008 as the new stronghold of the religiously unidentified." As Mohler saw it, the historic foundation of America's religious culture was cracking.

Marijuana decriminalization

President Obama probably didn't anticipate that his brief dismissal of marijuana legalization during the online town hall would light up a potent movement of support for decriminalization.

The fact that he even addressed such a controversial and oft-ignored topic impressed some. But the way he seemed to deride the question angered manywho quickly expressed their dissent online in website comments, on blogs and throughout social networks.

"There was one question that was voted on that ranked fairly high and that was whether legalizing marijuana would improve the economy and job creation," the president said during the town hall, amongst a thunder of laughter from the crowd. - Have you voted in the poll Legalize Cannabis ? - "And I don't know what this says about the online audience." More laughter.

"The answer is, no, I don't think that is a good strategy to grow our economy," Obama said.

No further explanation given. Next question.

His short response was not only disconcerting for marijuana supporters but also a bit perplexing. After all, Obama called for marijuana decriminalization during ... a debate at Northwestern University when he was running for U.S. Senate in 2004.
